CAMx Processors

This page contains links to a variety of CAMx pre- and postprocessors, and various other tools that we have made available to the user community. These programs are distributed by ENVIRON as free software. As such, they contain notices like this:

ENVIRON occasionally posts updates for certain widely-used programs when necessary, but does not actively support or maintain every one. Users can e-mail questions, comments, suggestions or improvements to CAMx.

All of the files on this server were created using the Unix tar command. In most cases the tar file has been compressed to save space. To unpack the contents use the commands:

Archive of AHOMAP with test problem. Use to prepare Albedo/haze/ozone column input file for CAMx. See Readme file and job script in the archive for usage. Updated 21 February 2008 to handle different resolution in the latest OMI TOMS data.

Archive of AVGDIF program. Use to compare two UAM-IV format files and print a table of differences. Useful for checking differences between CAMx runs on different machines for the test case. See the file sample.job in the archive for usage.

Archive of CAMx2IOAPI conversion program that converts CAMx output average concentration and deposition files to I/O-API format. See sample job script for more information. You will need I/O-API and NetCDF libraries to compile and run this program.

Archive of CMAQ2CAMx interface program that converts CMAQ emissions and IC/BC to CAMx formats. Updated in April 2008 to include species mapping for CB05 and updated SOA chemistry. See README and job scripts for more information. You will need I/O-API and NetCDF libraries to compile and run this program.

Archive of PA postprocessing programs that extract IPR, IRR and CPA data from one or more CAMx Process Analaysis binary files, and reformats the data for subsequent analyses (e.g., using spreadsheets or PAVE). Updated 10/11/06 to support PM/IPR output and vertical averaging of CPA fields through the boundary layer.

Archive of program to convert fine grid output files (e.g., *.favrg) to coarse grid (e.g., *.avrg format). This is useful for post-processing if you have problems reading the fine grid files (e.g., PAVE metafiles don't work for you). See sample.job in the archive for usage.

Archive of KVPATCH program. Applies minimum Kv values to layers below a user-defined height based on input landuse fields and maximum Kv within that depth. See source code comments for details.

Reads in an existing biogenic emissions file and generates emissions for new species by scaling from existing species.
